Dan Fairbanks

Daniel Lyle Fairbanks, born on November 23rd, 1953 in Kansas City , Kansas. The second child of Robert and Lois (Gushee) Fairbanks.

In 1971 Dan graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. Shortly after graduation he began his career at General Motors Fairfax Assembly. During his years as an hourly worker he found a calling to serve as a union representative. After serving as Financial Secretary for UAW Local 31 Kansas City, Kansas. Dan transferred to other facilities and duties, culminating in his elevation to an International Representative for UAW. After 43 years of loyal service, Dan retired and settled in Liberty, Missouri.

His joys in life included golf, karate, walking his dogs, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Dan now joins, in rest, with his parents, Robert and Lois, his Godparents, Raymond and Irene Fairbanks and his brother Robert Fairbanks (Jr.).

He will be remembered and cherished in thought by his wife Candy, his siblings, Debra, Craig (Pam) Fairbanks, Carol (Anthony) Dimino, his children Kevin (Tiffany) Clark, Audra DiGaetano, Ryan Fairbanks and his grandchildren Katelyn, Julia and Elijah.

Visitation for Dan will be held on November 29th 2023 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Kansas City, Kansas.

The Family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff at Saint Luke’s Cancer Institute Liberty Hospital for the care and support you provided.
