Ricky Wayne Lawson, a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and uncle passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on October 3, 2012, in De Soto, Kan., at the age of 59. Rick was born the son of Paul and Irma Faye (Ingram) Lawson on Aug. 23, 1953, in Kansas City, Mo. Rick was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching the Royals and Chiefs but he was most well known for being an unselfish, loving and caring person. Rick worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad. He is survived by his parents of the home; two sons, David (Cris), and Ryan (Nancy); their mother, Connie Lawson; siblings, Terry Lawson, Jodi Lawson Shlesinger (Jim), Marvin Lawson (Barb); eight nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and nephews. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Landen, Layton, Larkin and Noah. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses that provided care for him over the years. Memorial visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, at the Maple Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will follow the visitation at Maple Hill Cemetery.
